if TMZ or popcrave hit WAYdifferent & managed to offer more cultural commentary than clickbait? it MIGHT look a little something like this. i've been toying with figma for a few months & finally feel i'm beginning to grasp its basics.
this fictional project features a team of five anagram-basesd pseudonymous writers who tackle the ugliest moments in pop culture & not only cement them into the memory, but also offer input that isn't afraid to find the entertainment industry at its achilles heel with philosophical / sociological / anthropological commentary. designed to feel almost blisteringly modern both in tone & in structure, the silver accents feature moving gradients that imitate a 'shine' like chrome would have in real life, ideally playing on the viewer's senses & subconscious memory of a common, often day-to-day image when the sun glints off of anything metallic. automatic familiarity along with a default-to-all-lowercase makes exposé feel like less of a gossip tabloid & more of a substack you might subscribe to out of morbid curiosity.
the goal? how to lure in the 'chronically online' pop culture fiends of 2026, & how to extend beyond that. how to grasp shortened attention spans & keep them wanting to click due to interactivity in elements of a webpage where it's least expected. include an air of exclusivity, & your temptation to keep on reading is doubled.
(can you tell i'm a nostalgia fiend? perhaps you can color me a bit fascinated by the highs & lows of celebrity culture. yeah. i'd say that's fair. obviously, this would NEVER be a project i'd set into action in real life, especially given how much harm voices from TMZ like perez hilton's once-infamous crudities once did to those already splintering beneath the pressures that come with a life without real privacy, BUT my creative writing community's basis partially revolves around media analysis & celebrity culture's varied impacts. this vision here is more of a worldbuilding endeavor than anything serious, pinky promie!)
