I asked an AI to review 10 small business websites.
The results were brutal.
Here's what came up on almost every single one:
#1 — No clear answer to "what do you do" in the first 3 seconds
Visitors don't read. They scan. If your homepage doesn't instantly say what you do and who it's for — they're gone.
#2 — The contact button is buried
I found contact forms at the bottom of pages, hidden in dropdown menus, or missing entirely. Every extra click costs you a customer.
#3 — Looks broken on mobile
Over 60% of web traffic is mobile. But most small business sites were clearly designed on a desktop and never tested on a phone.
#4 — Loads in 6+ seconds
Google starts penalizing sites after 3 seconds. Slow sites don't just frustrate users — they disappear from search results.
#5 — No trust signals
No reviews. No client logos. No "worked with" section. First-time visitors have no reason to believe you're legit.
The worst part? Most of these are 1–2 day fixes. Not a full redesign. Just targeted changes.

the creative vision:
most personal websites are finished before you visit. i wanted one that changes based on whether i'm working.
two worlds on purpose: the main site is a game hud - 8-bit pixel art, press start 2p, 14 animation states. the graveyard is victorian - playfair epitaphs, collective resurrection. deliberately different planets.
the shame mechanic works because it's specific, not clever. zo llm knows my exact idle hours and last ticket. generic shame bounces off. specific shame doesn't.
zo native throughout - llm, database, sms. this is what personal computing looks like when the infrastructure gets out of the way.

Here is how I used Fuser to create a non-existent Supreme x The Monkey campaign along with interactive web site assets for users.
Let's be honest, if you have ever seen that monkey- it creeps anyone out. I had the perfect idea to mix it with Supreme because they are known for "weird" collabs of this sort.
I created a jacket design by hand and built a whole photoshoot campaign along with web site assets around it ready for launch.

How to know your business needs a new website
A website doesn’t have to be broken to stop working for your business.
Often everything technically works – the pages open and the contact form is there – but the experience for visitors slowly becomes outdated.
Here are a few signs it might be time for a redesign:
📱 The site looks bad on mobile
Most visitors browse from their phones. If the layout breaks or buttons are hard to tap, people leave quickly.
🤔 Visitors don’t understand what you offer
Your homepage should explain your business within seconds.
🐢 The website loads slowly
Even a few extra seconds can make users leave.
🎨 The design feels outdated
An outdated interface can make a strong business look less trustworthy.
Sometimes a redesign isn’t about starting over – it’s about making the experience clearer, faster, and easier.
Agree with all points — but I’d add one more: sometimes the website isn’t “outdated”… it’s just unclear.
I’ve seen very modern-looking sites that still don’t convert, simply because the message is weak.
Design ages. Confusion kills instantly.
