The Problem -A project-based company needed long-term visibility on revenue growth, cost behavior, and profitability across 5 years to support expansion and funding discussions.
My Approach - Built 5-year revenue projections (project + trading revenue) : Structured cost of sales by category, Modeled administrative expense growth, Calculated EBITDA, EBIT, PBT, tax impact, Derived net profit trends and margin evolution, Integrated depreciation and deferred tax impact.
Key Insights - This model helps management: Plan capital requirements, Evaluate funding options, Assess break-even timeline, Understand operating leverage, Optimize cost structure.
This is solid modeling work — especially integrating depreciation and tax impact into long-term projections. Many 5-year models ignore those and distort cash flow assumptions.

Thanks, glad you noticed that. I’m currently extending the model with best/base/worst case scenario toggles to stress-test revenue assumptions, cost behavior, and cash flow resilience under different operating conditions. The goal is to make it a decision tool rather than just a projection.
That’s the right direction. Scenario toggles turn a static model into a strategic instrument.

• Dates stored as text

• Manual copy-paste every week
• No clear data flow
Then they ask:

A dashboard is just a mirror.
If the data structure is messy, the reflection will be distorted.
Before I build any report, I focus on 3 things:
Standardized column logic
Single source of truth
Repeatable data flow (no manual dependency)
Clean structure → Reliable metrics → Better decisions.
If your reporting feels fragile, the issue usually isn’t Excel.
It’s the foundation.
Completely agree. Dashboards amplify whatever foundation they sit on — messy data → misleading clarity. Standardization and single source of truth are massively underrated.
