My design observations from watching some of my clients start using AI to generate their own sites.
One area where this shows up clearly is MVPs. Over this whole period, I haven't had a single request to build an MVP from scratch. Instead, UX audits for these same MVPs have become common.
Clients generate their own landing page. But they don't have the expertise to spot where they're losing visitors or where the information or parts of the UI remain unclear.
So design isn't disappearing. It's changing. And if a designer has real expertise, they adapt to the market rather than compete with it.
That's exactly what I did. I just wrapped up an audit like this for a client.

This one's for Truxco, a Swedish marketplace for buying and selling used buses across Europe. Not the industry you'd expect design craft from. Exactly why it stands out.
The login is the first thing every user touches, every single session. It can feel like a chore, or it can set the tone for everything behind it.
A "boring industry" is just an industry nobody's designed properly yet.
The motion blur on the bus behind the login form is such a clever touch, it turns a static moment into part of the journey. What made you land on that visual metaphor over something more literal like route lines or a ticket motif?
I've built enough Middle-East-facing products to know: "East" isn't a blue color swatch bolted onto a hero image. It's rhythm, texture, warmth the stuff a user feels before they can name it. One of these two designs gets that in my opinion.
If the client pushes back, which detail do you defend first ?

A year ago, I moved from our i18n team at Canva, where I led and supported template campaigns built around cultural insights, local context, and the nuances of how people celebrate, communicate, and create across different locales.
Now, on Growth, my design team's starting point looks different. We work mainly from SEO data, search behavior, and signals around what people are actively looking for 👀
Different insight. Different source. Same creative process: find the signal, ground it in real-world research, understand the person behind it, and turn that understanding into something useful, relevant, and worth creating.
It’s honestly been interesting to see how changing the input can change the output, while the fundamentals of good design stay surprisingly the same.
