A reminder to keep going: I’ve applied to well over a thousand jobs on this platform, and fewer than 1% have led to an opportunity. It’s easy to look at the rejections, the unanswered applications, and the jobs that pass you by and assume that people don’t want you or your work. But that isn’t necessarily what it means.
Finding the right fit can take time. Sometimes the person hiring is looking for something very specific, sometimes the timing isn’t right, and sometimes your application simply gets lost in a crowded pool. None of that defines your value.
Keep putting yourself out there, keep improving your work, and do everything you can to show people what you’re capable of. The more you apply, the more you learn how to present yourself and your skills. Eventually, the right person will see what you can do and give you the opportunity to prove it.
