There's little funding for anything in Nigeria. There is little acknowledgment of the young people building Nigeria and improving its international reputation. I've been in the film space for less than a year, but in that time, the quality of the people I've met has been exceptional.
In addition to the film reviews publication I run, Filmmakers to Stay up for! It is a platform I launched last week to spotlight people doing the Lord's work in the space. The first conversation is with Ese Obrimah, who worked on the fantastic feature film My Father's Shadow, which premiered at Cannes last year, and released her directorial debut Heartbreak and Ocean Waves, which showed at the Black Harvest Film Festival.
