I timed how long it actually takes Google to flag a hacked WordPress site. The number surprised me. It wasn't immediate. A compromised site can stay infected for days before Google Safe Browsing or Search Console surfaces a warning. And that is the dangerous part. By the time the owner sees: "Deceptive site ahead" OR "This site may be hacked" the attacker may have already had plenty of time to: • Inject spam pages • Create malicious redirects • Add hidden admin users • Abuse the server • Damage the site's reputation Google is not your intrusion detection system. It's often just the alarm that goes off long after the damage has already started. Your WordPress site needs its own monitoring, logging, backups, and security checks. Don't wait for Google to tell you something is wrong.
