For the longest time, I thought building a portfolio was the hard part.
Turns out, building the product behind the portfolio is a completely different challenge.
Over the past few months I've been designing presentations, building a legal intelligence framework from scratch, redesigning workflows countless times, deleting code I was proud of, and learning that "working" isn't the same as "scalable."
One lesson keeps repeating:
The first version teaches you what the second version should be.

One of our older concepts that still stands out to us is Sentra Wallet.
At the time, most crypto wallets leaned into dark themes and interfaces that felt built for experienced users. We wanted to explore a different direction. Something brighter, friendlier, and easier to navigate without losing the feeling of security or control.
The goal was simple: make managing digital assets feel approachable. We focused on clear information hierarchy, intuitive navigation, and a visual identity that didn't rely on the usual Web3 design trends.
Looking back, we'd definitely refine parts of it today, but the core idea remains the same. Great product design isn't about making crypto look more complex. It's about making it feel easier to use.
Going brighter and friendlier for a crypto wallet is still the harder design problem, most teams default to dark mode because it's easier to fake secure. What was the biggest pushback from users used to the darker wallet convention?
could Canva become the place freelancers build, launch, and track client ads from start to finish?
i tried out Canva Grow 2.0 to see how fast i could create a full ad set: starting with a prompt and ending with ready-to-recreate creative.
the biggest win: speed. it helps you move from “blank page” to multiple ad directions quickly, which is especially useful when clients need options.
the caveat: the strategy still matters. Canva can help generate and organize the creative, but the best results still need your perspective, positioning, and understanding of the client’s audience.
for freelancers, i can see this being especially helpful for pitches, quick-turn campaigns, and showing clients what a campaign could look like before investing hours into production.

I don't know why I just couldn't find myself using it properly. I've tried multiple times using Canva, but every time it was just so frustrating for me.
