For the past 3 months, I’ve been building a color engine powered entirely by OKLCH.
This isn't another palette generator. It’s a system engineered for perceptually consistent color across UI, product, and brand design.
The Blueprint:
- 1,232 Authored Tokens: 7 neutral + 21 chromatic families.
- Purpose-Built Dark Mode: Engineered from the ground up, not just a lazy inverted palette.
- Zero-Error Alpha Scales: Mathematically solved transparency that perfectly matches its solid counterpart while adapting seamlessly over any background.
- Systemic Overlays: Black & white scrim scales derived directly from the system, not guessed opacities.
- Multi-Gamut Support: Adaptive rendering for sRGB web safety, Display P3 vibrancy, and CMYK.
High-end screens shouldn't be limited to legacy web colors. This engine automatically scales to unlock the vibrant, wide color spaces of modern hardware, while keeping prints grounded.
We're moving away from "picking" colors and moving toward engineering color systems.
