Something I notice with almost every new client I work with.
They come to me with a beautiful idea for their website. They know what they want it to look like. They have saved inspiration on Pinterest. They have a color palette in mind.
But when I ask them what they want their website to do, they pause.
Not because they do not have an answer. Because they have never been asked to put it into words before.
A website without a clear goal is just a digital brochure. It looks nice but it does not work. And working is the whole point.
Before you think about design, get clear on three things. ✅ What do you want visitors to do when they land on your site. ✅Who exactly are you trying to reach. ✅And what makes you the right choice for them.
Everything else, the layout, the colors, the copy, flows from those answers.
If you are still figuring that out, my Website Copy Starter Guide walks you through it step by step. And if you are getting closer to ready to hire someone, my Web Designer Hiring Checklist will help you prepare. Both are free on my profile.

That pause moment is so real. The Pinterest board exists, the color palette is picked, but when you ask 'what do you want someone to do here,' the answer gets fuzzy fast. Getting clarity on that one question before anything else saves so many revision rounds.
