One of the best things you can do for your personal and professional growth is take a sabbatical!
If your circumstances allow, I’d strongly encourage saving and planning for an extended break, even seven months to a year. Time away from work can be incredibly valuable when you use it intentionally.
During my time away from corporate America, one of my biggest priorities was working on myself.
It’s easy to focus on what everyone else could do differently in the workplace. However, stepping away gives you an opportunity to reflect on your own habits, communication skills, mindset, and areas for improvement.
That inner work can help you develop greater self-awareness, strengthen your professional relationships, and gain a clearer sense of purpose.
For me, taking time away wasn't just about stepping back from a career. It was about becoming a better person and a more intentional professional.
Sometimes, personal growth is one of the most valuable investments you can make in your career.
So, to anyone considering a sabbatical, if you can prepare for it financially and personally… TAKE IT!
Give yourself the space to learn, reflect, and grow. 🤎
