VPS Migration & Hosting Stack Setup (Ubuntu 24.04)
What I worked on Planned and executed a full website migration to a new KVM-based VPS, including server setup, control panel installation, data transfer, and final cutover.
My role & tools
Linux / DevOps Engineer Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, KVM VPS, Hestia Control Panel, web & database services
What I did
Reviewed existing VPS setup and access credentials
Deployed 4 new KVM VPS instances (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS)
Installed and configured Hestia Control Panel
Configured web server and database services
Migrated ~52 GB of website data and database
Performed final data sync after content freeze
Updated DNS and pointed domain to the new server
Provided backup guidance and handover documentation
Result
Successful zero-issue migration
Stable, production-ready hosting environment
