🚗 Dev Log #2 — Prototyping My Car Game in Unity
I’ve been spending some time prototyping a car game in Unity, and this is where the project currently stands.
The goal at this stage isn’t to make everything look perfect — it’s to get the core driving experience working and figure out what actually feels fun.
So far, I’ve been experimenting with:
🏎️ Car movement and basic driving physics
🎮 Player input and controls
🛞 Steering, acceleration and braking
🌍 Building a simple environment to test the car
📷 Camera positioning and follow behaviour
🔧 Tweaking values repeatedly to make the driving feel better
One thing I’m quickly learning is that car physics are much harder to “just get right” than they initially seem.
Small changes to acceleration, steering, drag, suspension and camera movement can completely change how the car feels.
Right now, I’m still in the messy prototype stage — lots of tweaking, testing, breaking things, and trying again.
But that’s also the fun part of game development. 😄
My next goals are to improve the driving feel, polish the environment, and start adding more gameplay elements.
This is just the beginning. 🚗💨
