Hey everyone, this is my submission for the @Rive HMI Challenge: NEURAL ROBOT CONTROL.
This project explores a system where a human can remotely operate a maintenance robot inside a radioactive reactor core — an environment too dangerous for direct interaction. The robot acts as a...
A fake terminal. A coding agent starts building a little Rive scene, and partway through, something else starts typing.
I used both the Rive CLI and GPU Canvas. The agent wrote the scene in RML through the CLI. The terminal renders to an offscreen GPU Canvas and runs through a CRT shader I wrote in WGSL. A state machine and some Luau scripts handle the typing.
The whole thing runs off one data-bound number I called "possession." As it climbs, the text, the cursor, the shader and the preview window all go wrong together.
I did the preview animations by hand in the Rive Editor.
Having a lot of fun building a tool inside Rive runtime ! here's a sneak peek of a way to draw in Blender to AI so that it does proper VFX for the upcoming (hopefully if I meet deadlines lol) haloween submission
This interactive animation was created for a breathing exercise guide app. I often use breathing exercise apps. I was surprised to find that nowhere do they use characters to visualise the breathing process, and the animations are all very similar.\
When the opportunity arose to take part in the Rive Interactive Character Challenge, I decided to create my own calming character to demonstrate the phases of breathing.
Everything was created entirely in Rive.
I designed the character and animations, created a bone system for the head and tentacles, and built a State Machine to handle the logic of phase transitions and phase timing.
