A character’s history shapes what they want, who they trust, and what they’re afraid to become.
My latest case study explores Ariane Lioraine and Evander Glass from my fantasy project, The First Fracture. Through illustrated profiles and a relationship map, I connect their motivations, flaws, family histories, and roles within Mirum.
Ariane seeks recognition after her identity is erased. Evander struggles with the responsibilities of a Crown he never wanted. Their connection grows through shared curiosity and questions about justice, while their different circumstances create tension.
What helps you understand a character first: their greatest desire, deepest fear, or closest relationship?
