This is an 11-second before/after clip from my first short film.
Same shot. No VFX tricks. Just intentional color grading and layered sound design doing the heavy lifting.
Most people think grading is about making things “look cinematic”. It’s not. It’s about controlling emotion, depth, and attention — and sound is what silently sells the realism.
The “before” feels flat and disconnected. The “after” feels lived-in, grounded, and emotionally aligned with the story.
This film was where I stopped editing for aesthetics and started editing for impact.
