Something I changed about my process that made a real difference: moodboards before design.

I used to go straight into design and figure things out as I built. It usually worked out, but there was always some rework at the end because what I made didn't quite match what the client pictured.

Now I start with a mood board instead. Colors, type, references. Enough for the client to react to before we're deep into actual pages and layouts. By the time I start designing, we already agree on the direction.

Small change, big difference. Worth trying if you've never done it 🙇🏽‍♀️🤍

The moodboard was the hardest part of this whole project.

54 Mirrors had to stand out, but still read as wellness. Those two pull against each other and that's basically the entire brief.

It's a weird artifact, this board. It holds the bold, loud character of the studio, and at the same time I was trying to build a home feeling with raw photo style. Not polished studio shots. Real light, real rooms.

What I wanted people to feel: you're different here, and you're still comfortable here.

Took me way more iterations than I want to admit 😅

Where do you start with a moodboard? Photos first or colors first? 💬

Went with Option A, the encouraging line at the bottom does more for retention on day one than a bigger hero number. New users need reassurance before they need precision.
