Are our genes destiny? The answer is: No. 👩‍🔬

A look back at history reveals how powerful our lifestyle truly is: Children who were in the womb during the Dutch Hunger Winter (1944/45) were significantly more likely to develop metabolic disorders decades later.

The reason? Epigenetics. It wasn’t the blueprint (the DNA) that changed, but rather the "switches" that determine which genes are active and which are silenced.
