Someone reached out recently and hired me to help edit an important email they were sending. They could have just put it in ChatGPT and asked for an edited version. But they wanted another (real) person to look at their (real) communication that they were sending to a (real) person for a (real) reason. And I spent (real) time on it. Together, we made it sound more like her, and it worked great. We can't forget that words are power. They help us share our needs, wants, passions, and care when it really matters. So let's give our words what they deserve. If we care about people, we'll care about how we communicate. To simply outsource it all is to outsource our humanity.
