Most skincare ads explain the formula before giving the buyer a reason to care.
Ceramides. Niacinamide. Hyaluronic acid. Lightweight texture.
Useful information.
But information alone does not create desire.
For this DTC skincare concept project, I rewrote a feature-led product ad into buyer-centered conversion storytelling across:
• Paid social ad copy • PDP messaging • Hook development • UGC script adaptation
The original message started with the serum.
The rewrite starts with the moment that makes the serum feel relevant:
Catching your reflection at the end of a long day and noticing that your skin looks as depleted as you feel.
That shift changes the buyer’s internal response.
From:
“What ingredients does this contain?”
To:
“This understands the exact moment I want help with.”
The strategy was simple:
Recognize the buyer’s lived experience. Connect the product benefit to an emotional outcome. Give the product a believable role in their routine.
Features explain the product.
Relevance makes the buyer want it.
