Freelancers packaging digital downloads: can a buyer finish the core task without opening an “optional” resource link?
In the Digital Download Release QA Kit's fictional Willow Templates example, the five-file package has no required online template links. Optional references are labeled, and the local files remain usable without them.
Try a narrow check on your next release: • Extract a working copy into a fresh folder • Follow the Quick Start and complete one promised task with the optional reference unopened • Record any step that needs the link for an essential instruction or a missing template • If the task gets stuck there, include the missing material or clearly describe the dependency and its access requirements • Repeat the check after correcting the files and instructions
This tests whether the link's label matches its role in the workflow. Keep a record of the task, files, app and result so the next reviewer can repeat it.
Shown: the complete Test the buyer journey page from the kit's fictional completed example. All names, records and outcomes are invented for illustration.
The five-file ZIP includes a five-page editable Word packet, matching print PDF, Excel QA tracker, five-page fictional example and two-page Quick Start. Designed for desktop Word and Excel; PDFs are static. The kit records manual checks and evidence references. It does not inspect files or test links automatically.
