Long Term Freelance Book Editor
greaat opportunity
One thing freelancing teaches you quickly:
A prospect liking your work does not mean the deal is closed.
I've had samples accepted.
Positive replies.
People saying they liked the editing.
And then...
Silence.
There are dozens of reasons.
Budget changed.
Project got delayed.
They hired internally.
Another editor responded first.
They simply got busy.
So I stopped emotionally treating positive replies as clients.
My rule now:
It's a lead until the agreement and payment actually happen.
That mindset makes freelancing much easier to manage.
