I don't have my first Contra client yet.
And honestly, I'm okay with saying that publicly.
Over the last few days, I've probably sent more personalized proposals than I have in months. I've also been spending time reading founders' posts, congratulating people on their milestones, and learning from freelancers who've already built successful independent careers.
One thing I've noticed is that almost everyone celebrates the $10K, $50K, or $100K milestones.
Very few people talk about the part before the first client.
That's the stage I'm in right now.
Instead of waiting around, I've been using this time to improve my portfolio, refine my proposals, build projects I'm genuinely proud of, and connect with people whose work I admire.
Whether my first project comes tomorrow or a month from now, the goal stays the same:
Keep building. Keep learning. Keep showing up.
