Every dev portfolio has the same wall of tech logos. I kept looking at mine and thinking, anyone could have built that. And tbh, dropping a React logo on a page proves nothing about whether I know what to do with it.
So I let my creative side off the leash and made the grid draggable. You pull the stack you want to build into a box, and my site tells you what it thinks of the combination.
Behind it sits a rules engine I wrote. 42 rules, 32 of them are warnings. It doesn't rate individual tools, instead it judges combinations. Because that's where the expensive mistakes usually happen, and every verdict ends with what I'd pick and why.
Two of the 24 tiles are jokes (Pure Magic and Unlimited Wishes) to make it more fun.
And the whole point? A skills list asks you to trust me. But this one puts my judgment somewhere a potential client can understand my though process before hiring me.
It's live and you can drag in your own stack: https://codingwithmarcel.com/#experience
If it hands you a verdict you disagree with, please tell me, so I can fix the rules engine.
