THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY
Most branding projects start with a client. This one started with a conviction.
The Story is a narrative strategy practice I co-founded with a trusted collaborator. The idea had been sitting between us for a while before we finally built it. The work is focused: help businesses find the language that lives beneath the brand. The layer that gives shape to what they do and meaning to how they say it.
The copy came first. That was deliberate. If we were going to tell other businesses that the right words change everything, we had to prove it on ourselves first. The name had to do what we promise to do for clients. Clear, direct, confident enough to need no explanation. The Story. Two words. No qualifier.
The identity followed the same logic. A serif wordmark, a horizontal rule, a palette that sits somewhere between editorial and architectural. Nothing that announces itself. Nothing that reaches. The kind of brand that doesn't need to argue for its credibility because it doesn't occur to it to try.
The line we built everything around: when a business can say what it is, clearly and with feeling, everything changes. It had to earn the visit. We think it does.
