How have been incorporating usage of AI with my design work and how it been turning out so far.
This year, I've worked on 2 mobile apps (GO. & SendIt.), 1 web app and over 3 websites.
Here's how AI changed my design workflow:
Before:
Take client idea → Sketch → Wireframe → Design → Present → "This isn't what I meant" → Redo → Repeat.
After:
Take client idea → PRD with DeepSeek → Claude prompt → Functional prototype → Client tests → Aligned → Design once.
Using GO. Project for instance:
When we started GO., all we had were ideas. No flows. No clarity. Just "build a navigation app for public transport."
Here's what I did:
Used DeepSeek to turn rough ideas into a full PRD
MVP features vs backlog
User flows mapped
Edge cases documented
Fed that PRD into Claude to generate first iteration
Functional prototype before any design
Clickable flows
Client could test functionality, not just look at pretty screens
Sent iteration link to client
"Here's how it works. Test it. Tell me what's wrong."
Changes made before a single pixel was designed in Figma
Only then: Design in Figma
Colors, typography, layout, polish
No surprises. No "this isn't what I meant."
What clients are really paying for:
Not just colors and rounded corners.
They're paying for:
✅ Clarity for them and their users
✅ Functionality that works
✅ Flows that make sense
✅ Speed
AI didn't replace my design skills. It removed the guesswork before design begins.
