Here's my full revenue breakdown.
I started freelancing in April 2025 after leaving my job at a design studio. Since then, my income has come from a few different places (not all of it is visible on contra).
Most of it came from ongoing freelance work with startups. As I started working directly with clients on framer websites, I also began offering a monthly retainer for updates, maintenance, and improvements after launch. More recently, I joined Contra Labs, which has been a nice extra source of projects.
Here's the breakdown:
• Freelance work: 70% (worked with framer, contra, magicpath etc.)
• Direct clients: 24%
• Retainers: 4.3%
• Contra Labs: 1.7%
The number is nice, but knowing where it comes from is what actually helps you understand how to build something sustainable.

The breakdown is the useful part, not the total. Seeing retainers sit at only 4.3% versus 70% from ongoing freelance work says a lot about where the actual stability comes from. Did you go looking for Contra Labs once the numbers were already solid, or did it show up earlier and help you diversify?
