A few months ago, my mum passed away, and I had to clear her flat.
It was already an awful job. Then came the practical part: phone calls, emails, waiting for quotes, arranging site visits, and letting strangers into an empty home while I was there alone.
I kept thinking: why does this still work like this?
So for the @Lovable #lovablechallenge, I built Sister Move, a women-led removals and house-clearance service designed to take the friction out of the whole process.
Customer photographs the rooms. AI identifies what needs moving or clearing and builds the inventory for you. You correct anything it gets wrong in plain English.
From there, Sister Move calculates the job using fixed pricing rules, shows dates when the actual crew and van are available, and lets you book and pay the deposit there and then.
No site survey. No waiting days for a quote. No back-and-forth just to find out whether someone is free.
And you know who is coming into your home before they arrive.
This one came from a very real problem I wish I hadn’t had to solve.

Congrats to the winners, the craft on those projects is impressive.
I’d like to add a constructive note on transparency. The brief listed four criteria: problem-solving impact, owner-effort reduction, craft and storytelling. My entry (Suds & Scissors, a booking system for a solo mobile dog groomer in Portland) focused on the first two: an AI texting assistant that turns “can you fit my doodle in?” into a booked, deposit-backed slot, plus automated reminders, waitlist refills and no-show protection.
I’m not questioning anyone’s effort or the winners’ quality. It would just help everyone improve if Contra shared a short note on how the criteria were weighted, and maybe brief feedback for finalists. That would make future challenges feel worth the investment for newer members too.
