The pottery class ends long before your piece comes home.
Between drying, firing, glazing and collection, there’s a whole journey the maker rarely gets to see. That became the starting point for AFTERFIRE.
Built with Base44, AFTERFIRE is an independent pottery studio concept that connects the workshop experience with everything that happens afterwards.
Each piece has a personal digital passport: its photograph, materials, current stage, studio updates and collection details.
On the studio side, a batch-based workbench brings inspection and collection together. Staff check each piece before releasing it. Passed pieces move forward together anything needing attention stays on hold. Customers can then choose a pickup day and follow their piece home.
I started by mapping the journey from the first turn of the wheel to the final handover, then shaped the website and studio tools around those moments.
The visual direction draws from ceramics catalogues: warm paper tones, expressive serif typography, process photography and quiet inventory details.
My favourite part is that the story continues after the workshop. The thing you made still feels connected to you while the studio looks after it.
