Revisiting one of my older self-directed projects from earlier this year and pushing it much further.
KARMAE originally lived in a darker, more atmospheric world through its first scent, Orbit. For this refresh, I kept the core identity and overall direction, but started exploring what the opposite side of that same brand could feel like.
ASTER is that softer expression. More light, more diffusion, more tactile materials. Frosted glass, pale botanicals, muted metallics and a much quieter environment, while still feeling unmistakably part of the same KARMAE world.
Everything has been designed and directed by me from start to finish, including the product design, packaging, environments, materials and final 3D renders in Blender.

Thank you! 🤍 The final renders were 4000 × 5000 px and took around 5–6 minutes per image at most on my setup. Render time is really dependent on your hardware though, so the exact same scene can take very different amounts of time from one system to another.
way stronger than the first version
Thank you! I do think ASTER feels more refined, but it’s actually not a replacement for the first version. It’s an addition to the KARMAE world. Orbit and ASTER were designed to sit alongside each other for different moods, audiences and tastes, which is what makes the contrast between them so fun to explore.

Bland is a choice.
Pinch is a concept brand for a mid-high salt line made to live on the counter, not in the cupboard. Five flavors, five two-color tins, one refillable keepsake people leave next to the bar cart.
I built the full identity: wordmark, lid lockups, hand-stamped pattern system, tone of voice, and art direction.
