Built an AI-powered "Notes" feature for Nexis, my full-stack MERN video platform 🎬
Click "Notes" on any video and here's what happens under the hood: the request hits the server, which checks if notes already exist for that video. If not, it triggers a Gemini API call that first classifies the video — educational or non-educational.
→ Educational videos get structured notes with key points, ready to review.
→ Non-educational videos get a description of the visuals and mood instead.
The generated notes are cached in the database, so every future request for that video is instant — no repeated API calls.
One more step toward making Nexis feel less like a video feed and more like a smart content platform. 🚀
