A static HTML site looks great right up until someone needs to change a phone number.
That's usually how these projects start. The design is fine, the team just can't touch anything without calling a developer.
I recently moved a data protection site in St. Gallen from plain HTML into WordPress with Elementor Pro. What mattered most wasn't the build itself:
– keep the design as close to the original as possible, so nobody feels the site suddenly "changed" – turn the repeated parts (header, footer, contact blocks) into templates, so one edit updates every page – make text and images editable exactly where the team actually changes them – keep the old page addresses working, so search rankings don't take a hit
The goal isn't a new website. It's the same website, finally one the team can run themselves.
Anyone else doing HTML-to-WordPress conversions? Which part takes you the longest?
