A 72-hour hackathon, very little sleep and even less sunlight.
That was my weekend taking part in the fal × Sequoia video hackathon, where I created 3-3-3: a short film about a mother and her two children whose joyful summer’s day takes a terrifying turn. 🚤🌊

3-3-3 pulling off a tone shift from joyful to terrifying inside a 72 hour hackathon is genuinely impressive, and the black and white grading sells it. How much of the twist did you have mapped out before you started shooting versus discovering it as you edited?
Thank you Maty. I had a certain idea in mind, but I basically left it 50/50 to the Seedance to steer the story as we went along. However, after the hackathon and some time had passed, I would have done some shots differently 😉

Human by Design is a cinematic short film that explores the quiet rituals behind creative work. The film follows an editor immersed in his work as fatigue gradually sets in. At the same time, a cup of coffee is slowly taking shape, unfolding alongside his creative journey. As both processes reach completion, he pauses, picks up the coffee, and returns to his work with renewed focus.
Built using Envato stock assets as the foundation, every creative decision, from shot selection and pacing to sound design and color progression, was carefully shaped to transform individual clips into one cohesive story. The result is a reminder that while creative tools can accelerate the process, it is human judgment, intention, and taste that give the work meaning.
