Creating mockups is incredibly enjoyable for me. However, in the Japanese design industry, the presentation side of design—how the work is shown—still isn’t treated seriously as part of the process.
Mockups in Japan are often seen less as an essential design element and more as a small add-on for client presentations. This is likely why high-quality mockup templates are rarely seen in Japan.
I often photograph real environments and composite my designs into them, because I believe a design can only be evaluated objectively when viewed in its final form. (They aren’t always perfectly refined, but I still show them to clients when needed.)
In many international design cultures, presentation itself is considered part of the design.
