If you’re an author, would you want a teaser like this for your book?
I’ve been thinking a lot about how books are introduced visually before they even have a finished campaign around them.
This is a shorter, more emotional teaser for Harness, a novel I’m still developing. I wanted it to communicate the feeling of the story before explaining the story itself.
I cut it to “Where Is Gone?” by Fontaines D.C. and ROSALÍA, which I’m completely obsessed with right now, and it ended up fitting the emotional tone of the project almost too well.
There’s something interesting about giving a book a cinematic language while it’s still being written. Not a trailer that explains the plot, but something that lets you feel the world first.
As an author, would you find this kind of teaser useful for building interest around a book?

Hiii! I joined the Contra x CapCut challenge, having never used CapCut AI before. I’d only ever edited videos manually.
After three days of struggling with prompts, inconsistent characters, and scenes that absolutely refused to cooperate, I finally found my story.
I'm working at my desk with my dogs when an alien crashes into my life and invites me to LA. We travel across the universe, I get beamed onto a stage, and for a moment, I'm living the dream.
Then I turn into an alien.
And get kicked out because NO ALIENS ALLOWED.
All that intergalactic travel to technically make it to LA. 😂
Hey! Love your entry, the concept is so fun! Quick friendly reminder though—just to make sure you're fully eligible for the campaign rewards, please don't forget to also share your video on your social media (TikTok/Instagram Reels/X) and drop the link right here in your Contra...
It started with one image.
A skull.
I couldn't stop looking at it. It felt like it was alive and dying at the same time.
So I kept going.
Each version felt like the same soul dying in a new color.
Then I thought… what if it actually moved?
So I took my Firefly images and brought them to life with the new Kling 4.0
No camera.
No studio.
Just one skull and a feeling I had to follow.
This is "Pigment of the Dead."
