💡 NetSuite: Wave Pick Ticket PDF 💡 Recently worked on a NetSuite Wave Pick Ticket PDF customization. For this solution, I used a beforeLoad User Event script to prepare extra data that was not directly available in the standard PDF template context.
The script runs a SuiteQL query across: • Pick Task • Pick Action • Transaction • Item • Transaction Line
Then it stores the result as JSON in a hidden custom page field. From beforeLoad, I passed additional values like: • Subitem Of / Parent Item • Customer PO Number • Customer Part Number • Pick Quantity • Item Description • Order and line-level lookup data
The PDF template then reads this hidden JSON field and matches the data with each wave line using: • Pick Task • Order Number • Line Number
At the same time, I used the data already available directly in the PDF template, such as: • Wave number and barcode • Pick task number • Item name • Line number • Units • Bin details • Picker • Ship method • Shipping address • Pick type layout logic
Sometimes Advanced PDF customization is not just about FreeMarker. A clean solution often needs the right balance between SuiteScript, SuiteQL, and template logic.
