Why do businesses use platforms like Contra? Probably for the same reason many of us are here looking for project-based work: flexibility. A business might not need another full-time employee. They might need someone who can jump in, solve a problem, build something, clean up a process, launch a project, or bring expertise they don’t have in-house. And the people taking those projects? We’re not necessarily looking for a traditional 9-to-5 either. Some are building businesses. Some are between roles. Some want extra income. Some simply discovered that having skills doesn’t mean you have to sell them to only one employer. That’s what I like about this kind of marketplace. Businesses need problems solved.
