Client needed his Beehiiv newsletter to auto-update on Webflow. Here's every solution we tried, and the one that actually stuck. It all sounds simple enough. Every time a new edition is published in Beehiiv, it should appear on the website automatically. No manual updates. No developer involvement. The reality was a bit different. – First, we looked at Make. It would have worked, but it required a Webflow CMS plan upgrade that we didn't want to force on the client. We also try to avoid adding extra tools to the stack unless they're genuinely necessary. – Next, we tried a direct approach. Fetch the Beehiiv RSS feed in the browser and render the newsletter cards on page load. No automation required. That's where we hit the next problem. – rss2json is now behind a paid API key. – corsproxy only allows localhost access on its free tier. Three different approaches. Three dead ends. All discovered during the build. The solution ended up being a simple 30-line Cloudflare Worker. The Worker fetches the Beehiiv RSS feed server-side and passes the data to the page. A small JavaScript script then parses the feed and renders the newsletter cards on load. As a result, new editions appear on the website within about an hour of being published on Beehiiv. ✅ No Webflow CMS upgrade ✅ No scheduled automation running in the background ✅ No third-party subscription that can suddenly change pricing or limits ✅ Total additional cost: £0 The takeaway from this project was simple: When free tiers keep breaking, stop looking for another free tier. Build on infrastructure you control. Cloudflare Workers are free for up to 100,000 requests per day. For most personal brand websites, that's effectively unlimited.
