DCafé did not have a service problem. It had a trust problem at the point of submission.
When I tried to order my own thesis binding, the existing form submitted before I had finished. I was left uncertain about the final request and what it would cost: exactly the wrong feeling when your thesis deadline is close.
I rebuilt that critical handoff in Base44: a bilingual (Hungarian/English), live thesis-binding journey where students can configure the finished book, see the price before submitting, review every detail, and receive a traceable reference, while DCafé’s staff receive a structured, secure production request.
Students can now:
- Upload their PDF, Configure print, paper, cover color, collection speed, and thesis title.
- See a live 3D thesis cover update as they customize.
- See their price update before submission.
- Review contact details, production choices, and the final total in one clear place.
- Receive a public order reference and a WhatsApp support route after submitting.
But the rebuild goes beyond a prettier website.
Behind the scenes, each request arrives in a private Operations workspace. Staff can inspect production details, securely access submitted PDFs, and progress requests through Received → In Progress → Ready.
I also built a privacy-first WhatsApp concierge that:
- Answers approved student FAQs
- Verifies order status with a full name + public reference
- Help students escalate topics in English for the staff to review it in Hungarian.
The result is a more confident student experience and a more actionable workflow for DCafé’s team.

A client shouldn’t have to learn Webflow just to publish their next case study.
On a recent build, I spent a lot of time on the CMS: setting up reusable blocks and the logic that lets the team update content without rebuilding pages.
The tricky part is deciding how much control to give them. Too little, and every update becomes a request. Too much, and they’re suddenly responsible for the layout.
I want them to open the CMS, know what to do, and get on with their day. There’s a fair amount of work behind making that feel simple.
The CMS thinking here is spot on: the best handoff is the one that gives a client confidence without exposing all the complexity underneath.
Which AKARI Design Looks Better? 🍣
I’ve been working on AKARI (あかり) — a Japanese food restaurant website that I’m building both as a real-shop-ready concept and as a showcase of my web design & development work.
I’ve made two different versions of the design, and I want the Contra community to decide which direction looks better.

I’d lean toward Design A—the bolder structure gives the restaurant a clearer point of view, while the centered dish still keeps the page inviting. The restrained palette and generous whitespace make the food do the talking.
Most cookie packaging on shelf leans loud and cluttered — I wanted to see
what happens when you strip that back and let the product feel premium
instead of just sweet.
This project started as a redesign exercise on an existing cookie packaging
concept. I kept the product category and target shelf context the same,
then rebuilt the concept from scratch: new color story, new typography
system, new material direction.
What changed:
— Concept shifted from playful/busy to minimalist and premium
— Palette rebuilt around cream, charcoal, and a warm gold accent
— Custom logotype and clean geometric type system
— Matte textured finish to signal quality over sugar-rush energy
The result reads less like a snack and more like a gift — which is exactly
the shelf position a lot of artisanal food brands are chasing right now.

The restraint here really works—the warm chocolate palette and generous negative space make the pack feel premium without losing the product cue. The ingredient callouts are a nice touch for quick shelf scanning.
