Your website can’t rank for pages Google hasn’t properly indexed.
This sounds obvious, but it’s one of the most overlooked SEO issues I see.
You can publish great content, target the right keywords, and build backlinks…
But if important pages aren’t being crawled and indexed properly, those efforts may not translate into rankings.
Before asking:
“Why isn’t this page ranking?”
Ask:
• Is the page actually indexed? • Can search engines easily discover it? • Is it internally linked from relevant pages? • Does it provide unique value? • Are there technical issues blocking crawling? • Are backlinks pointing to the pages that matter?
Indexing comes before ranking.
And backlinks can play an important role here too. Relevant external links can help search engines discover important pages while also strengthening their authority.
SEO isn’t just about publishing more content.
It’s about making sure search engines can discover, understand, trust, and rank the content that matters to your business.
