Kestrel Orbital
A self-initiated brand and product for a fictional Earth-observation company. It watches places from orbit and tells customers what changed.
Most satellite companies sell imagery and resolution. Kestrel sells the conclusion, so the positioning became three words: See what changed.
A few decisions that followed:
→ One accent, one job. Rufous, the orange of a kestrel’s plumage, marks change and nothing else. The brand colour is also the product’s most important signal. → The logo is the interface. The Rufous square around the kestrel is the same square the product draws around a place where something has changed. → Finding first, evidence second. Every screen leads with one plain sentence a risk analyst could forward. Sensor, resolution and confidence are one click away.
