You Don't Always Need an Expert. Sometimes You Just Need Someone to Think With You.
Eight years ago on Fiverr, a man reached out to me. He wanted to start an Uber driving business in Africa and had already done his homework he had a list of cars he was considering and a rough plan in his head. He didn't need someone to tell him what to do. He just needed someone to help him think it through out loud.
He hired me as a Virtual Assistant. My job wasn't to be a car expert or a business consultant. It was to research, organise the information, and give him something logical to stand on.
So I did a market survey. I looked at things like fuel efficiency, maintenance costs in that specific market, passenger comfort, and what other Uber drivers in the region were using. Based on what I found, I recommended one car from his list over the others and I gave him clear, research-backed reasons why.
He went with it.
Eight years later, that business is still running.
Here's what I took from that experience: people often already know what they want. They just need someone in their corner who can help them reason it out someone who will do the work, lay out the facts, and make their instinct feel solid enough to act on.
That's a big part of what a good Virtual Assistant does. Not just tasks. Thinking partnership.

FounderMatch AI is a platform I built to help startup founders find the right co-founders and early team members.
One challenge many founders face is finding people with the right skills, interests, and commitment level. FounderMatch AI makes that process easier by allowing users to create founder profiles, showcase startup ideas, post open roles, and discover potential collaborators.
The Team Builder feature recommends candidates based on profile information and compatibility factors such as skills, interests, industry focus, and availability. Users can browse candidate profiles, review compatibility scores, and connect with people who might be a good fit for their startup.
The project was initially generated using Bubble AI and then extensively customized. I added the database structure, workflows, founder profiles, startup project management, connection requests, candidate recommendations, and compatibility-based matching experience.
My goal was to create a simple prototype that demonstrates how AI can help founders build stronger startup teams and find collaborators more efficiently.

A $5,000 design for an enterprise client.
Very impressive.
A client once sent me a broad business proposal and asked:
“How much will this cost?”
Before giving an estimate, I realized the real issue was not pricing.
The workflow was still unclear.
The core entities and state transitions had not been defined.
The MVP scope was too broad.
Several risks could significantly affect the architecture and timeline.
So instead of sending a quick quotation, I turned the proposal into a buildable backend plan covering:
• end-to-end workflow
• system architecture
• core entities and lifecycle states
• MVP scope
• risks and dependencies
• practical implementation milestones
I’ve now published the full anonymized case study on my Contra profile.
I’m currently open to backend system clarification, technical discovery, implementation planning, and backend development work.
For new collaborations, I’m happy to start with a small, clearly scoped paid engagement, with the possibility of expanding into a larger project or longer-term collaboration if there’s a good fit.
