Last month, I reviewed dozens of product manuals from Amazon sellers.
One thing surprised me:
Many products were backed by excellent listings, professional branding, and high-quality packaging — but the user manuals were an afterthought.
I kept seeing:
• Instructions written in poor English
• No illustrations or assembly diagrams
• Missing compliance and safety information
• Generic templates reused across completely different products
• No translations for international customers
This creates a problem that many sellers underestimate.
When customers cannot understand how to use a product properly, they usually do one of three things:
• Leave a negative review
• Request a return
• Contact customer support
All three increase costs and hurt the customer experience.
A clear, professionally designed user manual can prevent many of these issues before they happen.
It is one of the smallest investments an eCommerce brand can make — yet one of the most overlooked.
If you sell on Amazon,
Bol.com, Shopify, Walmart, or Etsy:
