A narrative culture essay exploring Kendrick Lamar, boxing imagery, victory, discipline, and the challenge of what comes after reaching the top.
I approached the piece as a cinematic story rather than traditional music commentary, using the boxing ring as a central metaphor to explore a larger question: What happens when you’ve defeated the opponent everyone was watching, but you’re still preparing to fight?
This project showcases my approach to narrative storytelling, cultural analysis, strong openings, thematic structure, and turning music topics into larger human stories.

🎬 Korean War — Documentary Editing Test
I created this short documentary-style edit as a creative test, using the provided narration and script as the foundation.
I wanted to go beyond simply placing images over a voiceover, so I built the sequence around motion graphics, animated maps, archival-style visuals, 2.5D parallax, camera movements, transitions, typography, and sound design.
The goal was to make the visuals constantly support the narration and keep the story moving without making the edit feel overloaded.
I created the visuals, animated the maps and images, added the transitions and effects, and designed the sound layers to give the piece more depth and tension.
This was a great exercise in combining AI-assisted visuals with documentary editing and motion design.
More experiments like this coming soon.

Halate might be new, but the work behind it has been years in the making.
Over the last few years, @Omar Duyarlar and I have had the opportunity to work on projects for and alongside brands like ASUS, @Contra HQ, RedShark and OASIS. We have been travelling, meeting some amazing people and telling stories in all kinds of places.
Looking back, it’s really cool to see how all those individual projects have slowly shaped the way we work together and ultimately led to starting Halate.
So we put some of our favourite work from the last few years together in one reel.
