Most apps don't fail because they lack features—they fail because they ignore the psychology of the user.
Look at this "Before vs. After" for PepKit.
The "Before" version (left) was functional, but it was visually heavy and lacked immediate feedback. The "After" version (right) isn't just a redesign; it’s a dopamine loop engineered for habit formation.
How I applied psychology to drive value:
Reduced Cognitive Load: By simplifying the visual hierarchy, I removed the friction that causes users to abandon their habits.
Positive Reinforcement: Highlighting the "Focus Score" and "Streak" creates a tangible reward mechanism, making the user want to return daily.
Clarity = Action: A clear "Today's Plan" transforms abstract tasks into a manageable path, reducing the stress that leads to procrastination.
Design isn't just about making things look good. It's about designing a user's behavior to help them succeed—and when your users succeed, your business grows.
Are you building a product that helps your users reach their goals, or is your design standing in their way?
