Why I step away from AI at the very start of ideation?
When I explored ideas for my JIG puzzle app, I tried AI for early concepts and directions. It was fast and structured, but most ideas felt safe and familiar.
Yes, you can guide AI to support ideation with better prompts. It can help. Still, this is one part of my process where I step away on purpose, even if it slows me down.
When the core question is open...what to build, which direction, what feels truly interesting. AI often recombines existing patterns instead of surfacing unexpected ones.
My best ideas come from wandering first: references, visuals, music, loose notes. Messy but original.
I use AI later on. Just not to read my mind.
