Everyday struggles, depicted as the ancient eternal torments of Greek myth.
In The Met's open-access collection I found two lekythoi by the Amasis Painter (Athens, c. 550–530 BCE), whose flattened rollout photos show crisp black-figure scenes of everyday labour. I built a custom Recraft V4 Style from four cropped friezes, then chained it with my best results to keep the line work and the modern objects consistent. The Greeks imagined punishments that never end; I added a few more: food that is always "5 minutes away", inboxes that refill as soon as they're empty, a battery an eagle drains every day. Each plate is painted like a two-band vase, with the hope above and the eternal reset below, so the joke reads without a single word.
