A rental calendar can show an available date while another booking platform already has a reservation.
I built RentTools, my own open-source product, to make that workflow easier to manage.
It brings together iCal feeds from booking platforms, manual blocks and cleaning buffer days, then provides updated feeds that each platform can import.
A useful implementation detail: calendar imports run on a schedule. That delay matters when designing a booking workflow, so the product explains it during setup.

Recently worked on a rental app concept focused on making the home-search experience simpler for tenants.
The idea was straightforward: find a home, explore the details, save the ones you like, and talk directly with the landlord all from one app.
For the tenant experience, I focused on:
• Clean home discovery and search
• Location-based property browsing
• Filters for rent, property type, bedrooms and amenities
• Detailed property pages with images and key information
• Save / shortlist functionality
• Direct chat with landlords
• Simple contact and viewing flow
I also designed the landlord side to make it easy to add properties, manage listings and respond to interested tenants.
The goal was to create a rental experience that feels simple, trustworthy and modern, without overwhelming users with too much information.
A strong rental product needs to make the journey from “I’m looking for a home” → “I found one” → “I want to talk to the landlord” as frictionless as possible.
