ROLE REVERSAL
I spend a ridiculous amount of time sitting in my chair, making AI characters do the most absurd things. Run faster. Fly higher. Do something completely impossible.
So I wondered: what if one of those characters took my seat, got hold of my keyboard and started prompting ME instead?
Two versions of me. One very questionable travel plan.
In the film, I want to get from Bangkok to CapCut World LA, but the flights are too expensive. My AI avatar offers me his chair and gives it a push.
Bad decision.
While I'm trying to survive the journey, he's comfortably sitting at my desk, making it more ridiculous with every prompt.
That's Role Reversal. The AI character gets to be the creator, and the creator has to live through the prompt. I wanted to take something we do every day as AI filmmakers and turn it back on ourselves.
Getting the film made had its own twists. Early generations improvised dialogue, missed actions and lost chair continuity. CapCut also displayed shortened or reworked versions of our submitted prompts. We simplified the generation units, improved references and built the final film around the performances that worked, with editing and sound carrying the rest.
All six AI video takes were generated in CapCut Video Studio using Seedance 2.5, including dialogue and foley. ChatGPT/OpenAI Images supported the references; ChatGPT helped develop the story. Codex, HyperFrames and Python/FFmpeg supported production, animated cards, motion graphics, editing and mastering. The score uses my original Gemini music, arranged from an earlier film, with added ElevenLabs applause. The closing spheres adapt CapCut World's website animation, personalized for this concept.
If your AI avatar took over your keyboard, what would it make you do?
AI-generated short film and fictional events. Independent, unofficial creator concept by Jay G.
