ChargeSaathi — EV Charging Support App Concept 🚗⚡

Turning an idea into a thoughtful digital experience.

ChargeSaathi is a conceptual EV charging support app designed to help electric vehicle users discover nearby public charging stations and explore home-host charging options when they need a charge.

The initial idea was shared by a close friend during an unexpected conversation. Inspired by that idea, I explored how thoughtful UI/UX design, clear information architecture, and a consistent visual identity could help address this real-world mobility challenge.

🎯 The Design Challenge

Finding a suitable charging option can be stressful when an EV battery is running low. ChargeSaathi explores a more convenient way to discover charging options, understand availability, and connect with potential home charging hosts.

Charging Discovery: Explore nearby public charging stations through a map-based interface.

Home Charging: Discover potential home-host charging options.

Charger Details: Present charging availability, compatibility, distance, and pricing information.

Booking Flow: Explore a clear charging request and confirmation journey.

Live Charging Experience: Conceptualize charging progress and session information.

Host Dashboard: Explore charging requests, availability management, and session summaries.

Trust & Safety: Consider verification, privacy, and clear charging information throughout the experience.

🎨 My Role & Contributions

As the designer, I worked on translating the initial idea into a visual product concept.

Mobile app UI/UX design

User flows and screen structure

Logo design created in Adobe Illustrator

Visual identity, colour palette, and typography

Interface layouts, cards, buttons, and reusable UI elements

Charging discovery, host details, booking, and dashboard screens

🛠️ Tools & Visual Assets

Photographic assets used in the concept were sourced from free image platforms, including Pexels, Unsplash, and Magnific, where applicable. The interface layouts, logo, visual direction, and overall presentation were developed as part of my design exploration.

💡 Design Approach

My focus was to create a clean, approachable, and intuitive interface that makes charging information easier to understand. I explored a forest-green and energy-lime colour palette to communicate mobility, sustainability, and energy while keeping the interface visually consistent.

🚀 What's Next?

ChargeSaathi is currently a concept-stage project, not a launched product. Potential next steps include user research with EV owners, usability testing, validating the home-host charging model, and exploring technical feasibility and electrical safety requirements.
